I recently stayed at a small wilderness hostel near a beautiful creek and right across the road from the Maligne Canyon hike. It was the perfect place for nature lovers like me, with clean rooms and a cozy common area. The lack of shower facilities and running water only added to the true wilderness experience, and the hostel manager was friendly and knowledgeable. I even had the incredible opportunity to spot a bear nearby!

    Strongly recommend this hotel.

Great value for money, clean and cozy room, and wonderful location near the river and downtown. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly.

The hotel breakfast menu could use some improvement, maybe more variety or options.

The manager was friendly and provided clean bed sheets upon arrival. The location was ideal, with easy access to Maligne Canyon and other attractions in the area. Although it was a wilderness hostel, the basic roof over my head and basic kitchen facilities were sufficient for my needs. Despite the lack of amenities like running water and WiFi, I enjoyed the peace and quiet of the surroundings, especially the soothing sound of the nearby river. I had a positive stay and would recommend this hostel for those seeking a simple and affordable accommodation option.

The hostel enjoys a fantastic atmosphere with a helpful team and a cozy, well-equipped kitchen. It is conveniently located close to downtown and offers easy access to popular attractions such as Lake Maligne and Maligne Canyon. Guests can enjoy the wilderness experience, being surrounded by natural beauty.

Compared to other wilderness hostels in the area, the shared spaces at this hostel are fairly basic, lacking comfortable seating options.

I had a wonderful adventure at the HI Maligne Canyon! During my 2-week camping trip in the Rockies, I decided to stay at this hostel to escape the snowstorm. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the hostel host kept us warm and informed. Despite the basic amenities, the cozy kitchen was perfect for our needs. I highly recommend this hostel for an enjoyable and adventurous stay.

The location of the hotel was excellent, with easy access to key attractions and downtown. The linens and bedding provided were clean and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. the atmosphere at the hotel was fantastic, with a friendly and helpful team who were always willing to assist.

The parking area, which had numerous potholes that could be troublesome for smaller vehicles. Another drawback was the lack of showers at the hotel, although this information was stated in the description.
